Payments for people who don’t pay their council tax by Direct Debit
If you pay your council tax in cash (by PayPoint, standing order/ bank transferor online) or have no council tax to pay, we cannot pay the £150 payment directly into your bank account.
Instead, we have sent letters with a Post Office Payout Voucher on it. You can use the letter to collect your £150 cash payment from any Post Office branch in Manchester.
How to get your £150 cash payment
You will receive a letter from us with a barcode on it.
Take the letter to the Post Office along with one of the following forms of ID (Letters, utility bills and statements must have been issued within the last 12 months):
- Credit card, cheque card, debit card or cash card
- Valid passport
- Valid driving license
- Bank or Building Society statement
- Utility bill (Gas, electricity, water bill)
- Letter that The Pension Service or Jobcentre Plus has sent to you (not handwritten)
- Birth, marriage or civil partnership certificate
- Residence permit
- Payslip, P45 or P60
- Letter from a doctor, solicitor, social worker, probation officer or HM Revenue and Customs
Show the letter to one of the Post Office counter staff. They will scan the barcode, ask to see your ID and then give you the £150 payment in cash.
You must visit the Post Office to pick up your cash payment by 1 September 2022.
