Apply for a Severe Mental Impairment Discount
You should have to hand:
- your Council Tax bill so that you can include your council tax reference number on the form;
- a copy of benefit entitlement letter and
- your doctor's certificate letter to upload when prompted.
If you don't have the doctor's certificate and entitlement letter yet, complete the online form and send them to us later by:
- scan or photograph them and send them to us using our contact form; or
- post them to: Council Tax Service, PO Box 3, Manchester M15 BA.
After you've applied for the discount
You must continue to pay the amount on your Council Tax bill until you hear from us.
Tell us if your circumstances change as this may affect your discount. If you don't tell us you may have to pay a penalty.
