Town Hall Tales

Manchester based arts and culture consultants Curated Place worked with communities across the city on Town Hall Tales. The project aimed to explore the rich personal histories of the people of Manchester and bring their stories to life with a series of podcasts and photographic exhibitions.

Launched and on show at the iconic Central Library in late 2019, this exhibition celebrates the people of Manchester and their relationship with the Town Hall. It was on display at Abraham Moss Library from January 2020. It's since been on display in North City Library and Longsight Library. It's currently in Wythenshawe at the Forum Library.

Interviews and images were collated from the submissions received by artists Afshan D’souza-Lodhi and Layla Sailor, who worked alongside Age Friendly Manchester, Ambition for Ageing, the City Wide Neighbourhood Coordination Group and Manchester Libraries Group.
