COVID-19 COVID-19 Vaccination Programme

Walk in COVID-19 vaccination clinics

In order to meet the increasing demand for vaccinations in select areas, walk in vaccination clinics will be opening alongside our other vaccination sites.

If you're over 16 and have had your first dose of the vaccine, you need to wait 8 weeks before having the second dose.

If you're between the ages of 12 - 17 and booking a 2nd dose, you can book it from 12 weeks after getting your 1st dose.

Boosters

Anyone over 16 who has had their second COVID-19 vaccine more than 3 months ago can have a booster at one of our walk-in centres; you don't need an appointment but there may be a queue.

Over 16s can also book a booster on the national booking service site or ring 119.

Other people eligible for a booster:

  • people who live and work in care homes
  • frontline health and social care workers
  • people aged 16 and over with a health condition that puts them at high risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19
  • people aged 16 and over who are a main carer for someone at high risk from COVID-19
  • people aged 16 and over who live with someone who is more likely to get infections (such as someone who has HIV, has had a transplant or is having certain treatments for cancer, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis)

People who are pregnant and in 1 of the eligible groups can also get a booster dose.

If you fit the above criteria and would like to get your booster, please take along ID and proof of your second vaccination date to one of our pop-up vaccination clinics or alternatively book through the national booking system.

You can also call the Care Gateway on 0161 947 0770 or 0800 092 4020, lines are open Monday to Friday, 8am - 6pm.

Eligibility

At most of our walk-in vaccination sites anyone aged 12 and over is eligible for the vaccine.

At the Baguley Pharmacy, Town Hall and Newton Heath Health Centre you need to be over 12 to be vaccinated.

At the Etihad you can now be vaccinated if you fall into the age groups of 5 to 11 and 12 to 15.

At Beech Road Pharmacy you need to be over 16 to be vaccinated.

Walk-in vaccination clinics

No appointment needed. Spring boosters are available for people aged 75 and over, people who live in a care home for older people, or people aged 12 and over who have a weakened immune system. All clinics offer first, second, booster and spring booster doses.
