What is Pride in Place?
Manchester has been given £100 million from the UK Government’s Pride in Place programme.
Over the next 10 years, five areas in Manchester will receive up to £20 million.
The aim is to improve neighbourhoods by funding the things local people care about most.
The programme is shaped by:
- local leaders
- local priorities
- local voices.
Where the investment is happening
Five areas have been chosen:
- Benchill South and Wythenshawe Central
- Clayton Vale (parts of Clayton, Openshaw, Newton Heath and Miles Platting)
- Gorton South (parts of Longsight, Gorton, Abbey Hey and Levenshulme)
- Harpurhey South and Monsall (parts of Harpurhey, Moston and Crumpsall)
- Moss Side West (parts of Moss Side and Whalley Range).

We are looking for people who care about their community to take an active role in the programme.
