The Mancunian Way will be closed for scheduled maintenance work to be carried out this weekend.
The closure, which takes place annually, will allow essential work to take place to keep the bridge safe for road users.
The work will include road repairs, refreshing road markings, bridge inspections and repairs, the installation of new splashback fencing, replacing safety barriers, road sweeping, emptying gullies and cleaning traffic signs, as well as checks and maintenance of street lighting.
It is vital that the council's ongoing programme of essential maintenance and inspections continues during this difficult time, with the Government having added this work to its "critical" work list. Discussions have been held with contractors to ensure that they will adhere to the latest government guidance on coronavirus, to best protect their staff.
The closure will be from 6am - 6pm on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 March, with signed diversions put in place
