Manchester City Council

Moston

  1. Ward-specific objectives

    Place and infrastructure

    • Fund at least one new group to deliver a climate‑friendly project using the Your Neighbourhood Fund by April 2027. This will help support new ideas and bring more people into local climate action.
    • Work with MCR Active to host one Active Street event in the ward. The event will include a climate change stall. We will talk to residents about greener travel and simple actions they can take to cut their carbon impact.
    • Work with the new Moston Lane Forum to keep clean and green on the agenda. Encourage the forum to host a climate change and litter pick event.

    Green and Circular Economy

    • Use the Our Manchester food security grants to support food growing and promote sustainable food.
    • Grow the Moston Lane Great British Spring Clean. We will cover a wider area and involve more groups. This will help make a bigger difference to local streets and shared spaces.
    • Support local groups to make the most of FC United’s Big Coat Day. We will help set up coat‑swap spaces and extra drop‑off points. This will help make sure people can access warm coats throughout the winter.

    People and Communities

    • Promote the Renew Hub site tour. Help local communities sign up so they can learn about recycling and climate change. Support at least one group to attend a tour.
    • Host a climate change information stall in at least one local school over the year. Also use a smoothie bike to highlight the link between cycling and a healthy lifestyle.
    • Deliver a Climate Fresk workshop with the new Moston Lane Forum. The workshop will help people understand climate change in a clear and simple way and support local action.
