Road Closures and Traffic Restrictions
The following temporary road closures and traffic restrictions will be in place across the city centre and Heaton Park area on Friday 19 June to Sunday 21 June 2026.
Please allow extra time for your journey and follow signed diversions.
City Centre
Road Closures
6pm on Friday 19 June until 7pm on Sunday 21 June:
- Minshull Street – from Major Street to Aytoun Street
- Hart Street – full length
- Bloom Street – from Minshull Street to the northern end of Bloom Street
Diversions will be signed locally.
No Waiting / No Loading Restrictions
The following restrictions will apply:
7am Friday 19 June until 7pm Sunday 21 June
- Minshull Street – from Major Street to Aytoun Street
- Hart Street – from Minshull Street to the northern end of Bloom Street
6pm Friday 19 June until 7pm Sunday 21 June 2026
- Bloom Street – from Aytoun Street to Minshull Street
Temporary Suspension of One-Way System
The one-way restriction on Auburn Street will be temporarily revoked from 6pm Friday 19 June until 7pm Sunday 21 June.
This applies from Aytoun Street to the entrance of Aytoun Street car park.
Diversions will be signed locally.
Heaton Park Area
Road Closures
9am to 2am on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June
- Sheepfoot Lane – from Bury Old Road to Middleton Road
8pm to 2am on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June
- Meade Hill – from Sheepfoot Lane to Middleton Road
- Middleton Road – from Victoria Avenue to Crumpsall Lane
- Heaton Park Road West – from Middleton Road to the petrol station
- Blackley New Road – from Middleton Road to Riverdale Road
- Wilton Road – from Holland Road to Middleton Road
- Bury Old Road – from Middleton Road / Leicester Road to the Bury and Salford boundary
Diversions will be signed locally.
Footpath Closure
Field Footpath No. 5 will be closed all day on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June 2026.
The closure runs from Middleton Road along the footpath to the junction with the unnamed footpath.
Temporary Suspension of One-Way Systems
The following one-way restrictions will be temporarily revoked from 8pm to 2am on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June:
- Brooklands Road – between Middleton Road and Cedric Road
- Wilton Road – between Holland Road and Middleton Road
Diversions will be signed locally.
Road Closures – Permit Holder Access Only
The following roads will be restricted to permit holders only during the times listed below:
9am to 2am on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June 2026
- Weardale Road – at Longhurst Road
8pm to 2am on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June 2026
- Northdale Road – at Victoria Avenue
- Broomhall Road – at Victoria Avenue
- Cudworth Road – at Victoria Avenue
- Heaton Park Road – at Victoria Avenue
- Caldecott Road East – at Victoria Avenue
- Caldecott Road West – at Victoria Avenue
- Glenbrook Road – at Victoria Avenue
- Beadham Drive – at Victoria Avenue
- Edilom Road – at Cedric Road
- Brooklands Road – at Cedric Road
- Blackley New Road – at Riverdale Road
- Moxley Road – at Middleton Road
- Catherine Road – at Middleton Road
- Melton Road – at Bury Old Road

- Old Hall Lane – full length on both sides
- Middleton Road – from Junction 19 to Crumpsall Lane, including the central reservation
- Blackley New Road – from Middleton Road to Elbourne Road
- Carr Bank Road – from Blackley New Road for 15 metres
- Bowker Vale Gardens – from Blackley New Road for 15 metres
- Betwood Drive – from Middleton Road for 15 metres
- Edilom Road – from Middleton Road for 15 metres
- Crumpsall Lane – from Middleton Road for 15 metres
- Ardern Road – from Middleton Road for 15 metres
- Wilton Road – from Middleton Road for 15 metres
- Bowker Bank Avenue – from Middleton Road for 15 metres
- Sheepfoot Lane – from Bury Old Road to Middleton Road
Clearway Restrictions
9am to 1am on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June:
- Sheepfoot Lane – from Bury Old Road to Middleton Road
- Meade Hill – from Sheepfoot Lane to Middleton Road
During this time:
- you must not stop, wait, park or load
- vehicles parked in violation may be issued a penalty charge or removed
Temporary Resident Parking Scheme
A temporary resident parking scheme will operate from 9am to 1am on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June 2026.

Enforcement
Additional temporary restrictions will be in place:
- clearly signed ‘No parking’ and ‘No loading’ zones
- enforcement officers will be present throughout the day
- penalty charges may be issued to vehicles parked in restricted areas
