a. Manchester Library's Ask About Business service offers a range of resources to help people start their own company: finding business ideas, business planning, market research, trade and business directories, intellectual property advice, free credit checks.
b. Business Link is the free national information service for start up and established businesses.
Advice and support
c. The Blue Orchid delivers a number of training and support programmes to help people into self-employment or set up their own business. Mentor support may be available.
d. Franchising Works supports unemployed people and those facing redundancy in starting a franchise. Loan support may be available.
e. The Co-operative Enterprise Hub provides advice, training and access to small grants or loans to help people or organisations set up and run a co-operative.
