Sports, leisure & the Arts Animal centre

The Animal Centre, set in the old stables, is a great free place to take the kids.

You can meet many commnon farmyard animals, such as chickens, goats, pigs, guinea pigs, rabbits as well as more exotic species such as alpacas. You may be lucky enough to spot a peacock up a tree or proudly strutting around the Stables Courtyard. Come in the summer and see his spectacular display of feathers. Out in the park we have Highland cattle with their long horns, you will spot them with their eye-catching long rusty red coats in one of the fields. Other larger animals include horse and donkeys

The animal centre has knowledgeable and friendly staff on hand to answer all your questions.

So, why wait! Come and visit our animals! They’re all looking forward to seeing you.

The centre is open all year round except Christmas Day.

  • April to September - 10.30am to 6pm
  • October to March - 10.30am to 3pm

Petting not permitted and we ask that visitors do not feed the animals.
