Our Objectives

Under the Licensing Act 2003, Manchester City Council, as the licensing authority, is responsible for alcohol licensing as well as regulated entertainment and late night refreshment (sale of hot food or drink after 11pm).

As the licensing authority, our activities are governed by the promotion of the four licensing objectives:

  • The prevention of crime and disorder
  • Public safety
  • The prevention of public nuisance
  • The protection of children from harm
