Health and wellbeing Winter Vaccination Campaign

Don’t let Covid and Flu ruin your winter

Winter vaccination campaigns

The NHS winter vaccination campaigns aim to protect those who are most vulnerable. Those likely to get severely ill or die from the Flu or Covid-19 can benefit most.

Even if you experience mild symptoms, Flu or Covid can still make you feel really poorly. It can mean you’ll miss education or work, as well as gatherings with friends and family. Getting vaccinated is the best way to keep you and those around you healthy during the winter.  In the late autumn of 2024, the NHS will publish a list of who is eligible for a flu jab or seasonal covid boosters.

Children aged 6 months to 4 years who are at increased risk from Covid-19 can get a first and second vaccine. Eligible children will be invited for vaccination.

You may need a vaccination if you:

  • develop a new health condition, or
  • start a medical treatment that weakens your immune system.

Your specialist will assess whether you need another vaccine. They will make a referral and help plan this around your treatment. Speak to your specialist for more information.
