People's hopes: consultation responses
During the summer in 2020, we listened to what residents and communities from across the city wanted Manchester to prioritise over the next five years.
We heard that you care about:
- Everyone having the same opportunities to progress, and recognising that some need more support to reach their full potential.
- Being a fair, open city, reflecting and celebrating our differences.
- Not shying away from difficulties and finding new ways of working to tackle the challenges facing our communities. From climate change to tackling inequality, there are some key priorities that matter to everyone in Manchester.
You told us that whether you live, work, study, volunteer or play in Manchester, we all have similar hopes and dreams for Manchester’s bright, buzzing, strong and welcoming future.
Our communities wanted a renewed focus on young people, our economy, health, housing, environment and infrastructure. We must understand and address inequalities to give support where it’s needed most.
People called for pride and support for everybody to live fulfilling, happy, healthy lives.
Working together and finding new ways of improving the city for our communities will be more important than ever.
