When you go to collect your dog

When collecting your dog from Manchester Dogs' Home, you will be required to pay a fee.  

The current stray dog release fees are:

  • £65 when the dog was collected by a Dog Warden; or
  • £45 when the dog was taken to Manchester Dogs' Home by a member of the public

The Dogs' Home may also charge for other costs incurred whilst caring for the dog.

Things you need to take with you to collect your dog

  • Identitya document with your name on and either your signature or photograph, for example a passport, driving licence, credit / debit card; and
  • Address a document not more than 4 weeks old with your name and address on, for example a gas, electric, telephone, water, council tax bill or a bank, building society or credit card statement.

You must provide proof of identity and address or you will not be able to collect your dog. If you are unable to provide the required documentation please contact Manchester Dogs' Home to discuss which other documents would be acceptable.
