Retrofitting is improvement work on an existing building to improve its energy efficiency, making it easier to heat, retain that heat for longer, and replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy.

Manchester’s Post Covid Economic Recovery Plan highlights retrofit is key to achieving clean and inclusive growth. We are working with businesses to develop a major long-term affordable housing retrofit programme with energy efficiency, low carbon heat and electricity, bringing with it an estimated 4135 jobs.
