Area 1
The proposed changes to the Bridge Street and John Dalton Street area are:
- Improvements (Bridge Street West – from River Irwell to Dolefield):
- Parking and loading restrictions indicated by Double Yellow Lines and kerb blips
- Two disabled parking bays on Left Bank
- Raised ramped areas and uncontrolled crossings on the junctions of Left bank
and Bridge Street, and Dolefield and Bridge Street
- Widened footway on Bridge Street, between Gartside Street and Dolefield
- A new bus stop on the northside of Bridge Street
Area 2
The proposed changes to the Bridge Street and John Dalton Street (Bridge Street – from St Mary’s Parsonage to Deansgate) area are:
- Parking and loading restrictions indicated by Double Yellow Lines and kerb blips
- Controlled pedestrian crossings at Deansgate/ Bridge Street/ John Dalton Street
- Longer loading bay on Southgate
- Relocation of loading bays from the northside of Bridge Street to the southside
- No entry signs at the junction of Southgate and Bridge Street
- New loading bay on Southgate
Area 3
The proposed changes to the Bridge Street and John Dalton Street (John Dalton Street – from Deansgate to St James’s Square) area are:
- Parking and loading restrictions indicated by Double Yellow Lines and kerb blips
- Controlled pedestrian crossings at Deansgate/Bridge Street/ John Dalton Street
- New wider footways at junction with Deansgate and on south side of John Dalton Street
- Ramped sideroads to slow turning traffic
- Relocated loading bays on John Dalton Street
- New loading bay on the southside of Ridgefield
- Bow Street and Ridgefield North one-ways are as existing
- 2 new disabled parking bays on St James’ Square
- Adjust carriageway width and pavement layout on the southside of John Dalton St
- 1 bus stop relocated from Albert Square to closer to Deansgate’s existing bus stop
- The loading bay has been relocated closer to Albert Square
- No entry signs on the junctions of Southgate and Bridge Street, Ridgefield and John Dalton Street, and Bow Street and South King Street
- St James’ Square one-way south to accommodate future developments
Area 4
The proposed changes to the Bridge Street and John Dalton Street (John Dalton Street – from St James’s Square to start of Princess Street) area are:
- Parking and loading restrictions indicated by Double Yellow Lines and kerb blips
- Controlled pedestrian crossings on John Dalton Street and Cross Street
- New wider footways on south side of John Dalton Street
- Ramped sideroads to slow turning traffic on St James’ Square
Area 5
The proposed changes to the Bridge Street and John Dalton Street (Princess Street – up to the junction with Cooper Street) area are:
- Parking and loading restrictions indicated by Double Yellow Lines and kerb blips
- Controlled pedestrian crossings on Princess Street
- Ramped sideroad to maintain footway height across Bow Lane
