We've spent £83m since 2005 to bring our Council homes up to low carbon standards.

Did you know that homes make up 30% of our City’s carbon emissions?

Our investment has resulted in a 49% reduction in C02 emissions.

To help pay for this we secured £12m in external grants. We’ve also received £10m in income from the renewable energy generated, which goes towards helping to fund more improvements.

We have also delivered energy saving advice to 1,900 residents, saving them an estimated £324k and 460 tonnes of CO2.

Our work in north Manchester includes:

•            1,600 solid wall properties have received external render and insulation

•            14 high rise blocks of flats have received external render and insulation

•            550 homes have heat pumps as an alternative to a traditional gas boiler

•            2,350 roofs have solar PV

•            300 blocks of flats have low energy lighting

•            11,900  homes with double glazing

•            5,100    homes with cavity wall insulation

•            7,000    homes with loft top-up insulation
