How do you submit an Official Local Land Charge Search to us?
Official Local Authority Land Charge Search
This is carried out by a local authority. You can submit official search requests to us using the following methods.
Online Portal
You can make a request for your official search report using our Built Environment Customer Portal. You will be able to create an account for yourself if you do not already have one, and pay for the search at the point of submission.
Your search request will not be processed until payment has been made in full, this includes any fee negotiations that may be necessary.
Post
Send 1 copy of the search request forms (LLC1/Con29/ Con29O) along with an Ordnance Survey plan outlining the area to be searched in red to:

The search report may be returned by email as an Adobe PDF document if you supply an email address on the forms submitted, or by post.
Payment must be included with the search request.
Ways to pay
You can pay for your Official Local Authority Search report in one of the following ways:
- Cheque – made out to Manchester City Council
- Bank Automated Clearing System (BACS) – email us for more information if you wish to pay by this method or ensure you have indicated this on your search
Cancellation of searches
Our policy is not to cancel searches once entered into our computerised system due to the quick turnaround of local searches.
