Schools, education and childcare School-age childcare conference

Manchester City Council is delighted to confirm that our free annual conference for wraparound and school-age childcare providers will take place on Saturday 13th June 2026 at the Hough End Centre, Mauldeth Road West, Chorlton, Manchester, M21 7SX.

The theme will be

  • sustainability,
  • focusing on supporting the continuation
  • and growth of school age childcare provision all year round,
  • including those schools/settings which have expanded through the wraparound expansion programme.

It will include

  • keynote expert speakers,

    • Tanya Petherick, Director BeMore
    • We Are Kickstart, MCR based social enterprise childcare
      expert
  • workshops on quality and financial sustainability,
    • The Pillars of Sustainability - Tanya Petherick
    • Sustainability through Quality - MCC Early Years QA
      Team and Ofsted
  • and exhibitors.

We will also be joined by colleagues from Ofsted and the Department of Education to explore how providers in all forms of school-age childcare (Free Breakfast Clubs, Wraparound Childcare, Holiday care and HAF) can support children and families year-round with high quality sustainable provision.

All attendees will receive a discount code for Muddy Faces outdoor resources for their school/setting.
