Our intention with this web page is to give an overview of the work that’s been taking place, but there’s so much to include that one web page can’t really touch the sides of it. So we’ve included details and links to lots of informative and fascinating content about the Our Town Hall Project

Heritage lectures
Since winter 2022, we’ve invited some of our specialist conservators and artisan trades to come and tell more about the work they’ve been doing in a series of free Heritage Lectures, hosted at Central Library. These have all been filmed so that we can share them more widely, and every one of them gives a fascinating and detailed account of a specific aspect of the project’s work. Subjects range from the restoration of our clock, organ, mosaics and stained-glass windows to the rescue of the Albert Memorial, the modernisation of the lighting throughout the building and the complexities of the roof. There are some incredible presentations in this series, that really tell the ‘Invisible Story’ of the Our Town Hall Project. Find out more about the lectures and watch the recordings.

Hoardings
