- the bill of sale, which includes VAT number, Vehicle Identification Number(VIN) and engine numbers from the dealership
On a new application private hire vehicles must:

Be less than 10 years old from date of first registration (see V5 log book for relevant date) and must not have been previously written off for insurance purposes. The licences on these vehicles will not be renewed when the vehicle 10 years old or more.

For a wheelchair accessible adapted vehicle be less than 15 years old from date of first registration (see V5 log book for relevant date) and must not have been previously written off for insurance purposes. The licences on these vehicles will not be renewed when the vehicle 15 years old or more.
