Manchester Safeguarding Boards

Manchester Safeguarding Children's Board 

The Manchester Safeguarding Children's Board (MSCB) is a statutory Board. Its main objective is to co-ordinate and ensure the effectiveness of work that is done to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people under the age of 18 in Manchester.

The board is made up of key partner organisations including statutory and non statutory organisations.

The MSCB is responsible for overseeing the 'Staying Safe' element of the Children and Young People's Plan but also has a statutory responsibility to support and challenge all agencies in relation to how they safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people as they deliver their services.

Manchester Safeguarding Adults Board 

The Manchester Safeguarding Adults Board (MSAB) has particular responsibility for safeguarding and protecting adults from abuse, although the board will seek to ensure that all of its work is carried out in such a way that positively impacts on improved outcomes in all areas of the lives of adults in Manchester.

The main purpose of the MSAB is to ensure that all organisations providing or commissioning services for adults in Manchester work in a coordinated way that promotes health and well being, safeguarding and the protection of adults from abuse in Manchester. 

The boards share a joint safeguarding board website full of information, resources and training opportunities for professionals working with vulnerable adults or children. .
