School Complaint Procedures
Each school has its own complaints procedure. You can ask the school for a copy. This will tell you:
- who to contact
- how to make your complaint
- when you should expect a response.
Who to write to
- Most complaints should be sent in writing to the headteacher.
- If your complaint is about the headteacher, write to the Chair of Governors, using the school’s address.
What happens next
The school will investigate your complaint using its own procedure. If you’re not satisfied with the outcome, you can contact the Department for Education.
