Climate change presents one of the biggest global challenges of our time, but many of the solutions are local.
Manchester, like other cities, has a pivotal role to play in tackling climate change and enabling sustainable living.
We recognise the importance of tackling climate change both in terms of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to minimise future global climate change and planning for the unavoidable local impacts of climate change.
Consultation on climate change
Responses to the Our Manchester consultation, led to an update to the city’s commitment on climate change: 'Manchester will play its full part in limiting the impacts of climate change… and by 2025 will be on a path to being a zero carbon city by 2050’.
A draft Manchester Climate Change Strategy 2016-50 has now been produced and we welcome your views. The consultation is open until 16 October, so please help define the zero carbon, climate resilient future that you want for your city by reading the strategy and adding your comments.
