Core Strategy
The Core Strategy will be the key Development Plan Document in the Local Development Framework (LDF). Once adopted, the Core Strategy will replace significant elements of the existing Unitary Development Plan as the document that sets out the long term strategic policies for Manchester's future development and will form the framework that planning applications will be assessed against.
The Core Strategy is presently being prepared and should be adopted in 2012. The timetable for its preparation is set down in the City Council's Local Development Scheme 2010-2013.
