Housing Payments are part of the Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF), which provides support for people in need. The scheme is funded by the UK Government and delivered by Manchester City Council.
Housing Payments can help if you are struggling to pay your rent.
You can apply for a Housing Payment if:
- you get Housing Benefit from Manchester City Council, or
- you get the Housing Costs element of Universal Credit,
and
- you live in Manchester, or
- Manchester City Council's Homelessness Service has placed you in a home outside Manchester.
We will look at your circumstances to see if you qualify for extra help with your rent. Housing Payments are not guaranteed and there is not right to a payment
We aim to review your application within 7 working days. We will then tell you our decision or contact you if we need more information before we can make one.
Don't wait to apply if you think you might qualify.
The quickest and easiest way to apply for a Housing Payment is online. You can also save your application and come back to it later if you need to.
We understand that applying online may not be suitable for everyone. If you need a paper application form or require support to complete your Housing Payment application, please contact our Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) team on 0161 234 5678. Our telephone lines are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 4.30pm.
