Fuller collection

Thomas Fuller (1608-1661) was a churchman and historian particularly known for Worthies Of England, published in 1662 after his death.

A collection of early editions written by Thomas Fuller was gathered by John Eglington Bailey (1840-1888), a Manchester merchant and book collector. Items in the collection include numerous sermons, theological books and largely anecdotal information that would otherwise have been lost.

The collections contain around:

• fifty 17th century editions of Fuller’s works
• sixty 19th century works about Fuller.

We also have around sixty 17th and early 18th century works by other people named Fuller.
