Brightman Street

The Council of the City of Manchester in exercise of its power under Section 129A (1) of the Highways Act 1980 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers being satisfied that the conditions set out in Section 129A (3) of the Act have been met hereby makes the following Order:

Except as provided in Article 2 of this Order no person shall use the public right of way over the alleyway ("the Highway") described in the Schedule to this Order at any time.

The restriction in Article 1 of this Order shall not apply to any occupier of premises adjoining or adjacent to the Highways or to any person engaged on Council business, to any police, ambulance or fire service personnel acting in pursuance of statutory powers or duties or to any statutory undertaker, gas, electricity, water or communications provider requiring access to their apparatus situated in the Highways.

Barriers will be installed, operated and maintained on the Highways at their respective junctions with Brightman Street and Welbeck Street. Neighbourhood Services, Central Operations Division is responsible for maintaining and operating the barriers. Their contact telephone number is 0161 245 7850

The alternative routes for pedestrians and vehicles which are available for use during the period the Highways are restricted are Longford Street, Brightman Street, Constable Street and Welbeck Street.

Alleyway situated to the rear of 40 to 50 Longford Street for the full length of 32 metres and for the full width. Alleyway situated to the rear of 2 to 34 Brightman Street / 1 to 33 Welbeck Street for the full length of 91 metres and for the full width. Alleyway situated to the side of 18 Brightman Street for the full length of 14 metres and for the full width. Alleyway situated to the side of 19 Welbeck Street for the full length of 14 metres and for the full width. Alleyway situated to the rear of 69 to 79 Constable Street for the full length of 31 metres and for the full width.
