Ratcliffe Street and Wetherall Street

The Council of the City of Manchester in exercise of its power under Section 129A (1) of the Highways Act 1980 ( "the Act") and of all other enabling powers being satisfied that the conditions set out in Section 129A (3) of the Act have been met hereby makes the following Order:

Except as provided in Article 2 of this Order no person shall use the public right of way over the alleyway ("the Highway") described in the Schedule to this Order at any time.

The restriction in Article 1 shall not apply to any person who lives in premises adjoining the Highway or to any police, ambulance or fire service personnel acting in pursuance of statutory powers or duties or to any statutory undertaker, gas, electricity, water or communications provider requiring access to their apparatus situated in the Highway.

Barriers may be installed, operated and maintained on the Highways at their junctions with Ratcliffe Street, Cromwell Grove, Wetherall Street and Chapel Street. Neighbourhood Services, Central Operations Division is responsible for maintaining and operating any barriers. Their contact telephone number is 0161 245 7850.

The alternative routes for pedestrians which are available for use during the period the Highways are restricted are Cromwell Grove, Wetherall Street, Chapel Street and Ratcliffe Street.

Alleyway situated to the rear of 64-76 Cromwell Grove for the full length of 36 metres and for the full width. Alleyway situated to the rear of 2-50 Wetherall Street / 1-53 Ratcliffe Street continuing to the side of 15 / 17 Chapel Street for the full length of 114 metres and for the full width. Alleyway situated to the side of 22 / 24 Wetherall Street for the full length of 16 metres and for the full width. Alleyway to the side of 25 / 27 Ratcliffe Street for the full length of 17 metres and for the full width
