    The Council of the City of Manchester in exercise of its power under Section 129A(1) of the Highways Act 1980 and of all other enabling powers and being satisfied that premises adjoining or adjacent to the highway referred to below are affected by crime or anti-social behavior and that the existence of the highway is facilitating the persistent commission of criminal offences or anti-social behavior and that it is in all the circumstances expedient to make this Order for the purposes of reducing crime or anti-social behavior, hereby makes the following Order

    Except as provided in Article 2 of this Order no person shall use the public right of way over the alleyway ("the Highway") described in the Schedule to this Order at any time.

    Barriers may be installed, operated and maintained at each end of the Highway. Private Sector Housing, Central Operations Division is responsible for maintaining and operating any barriers. Their contact telephone number is 0161 234 4904.

    The alternative routes for pedestrians and vehicular traffic which are available for use during the period the Highway is restricted are by using the roads to the front of 1 to 43 Lakin Street and 2 to 44 Levens Street and to the sides of 1 and 43 Lakin Street and 2 and 44 Levens Street.

  7. Date of effect

    This Order shall take effect on 5th December 2007.

  8. Alleyways to be gated

    Alleyway behind 2 to 44 Levens Street over the full width and approximate length of 89 metres.
