It provides additional information that specifically relates to this particular service, and should be read together with our general privacy notice, which provides more detail.

    This service uses personal information from members of the public, such as:

    • name
    • address
    • email address
    • phone number

    This service also uses information published by the Land Registry, such as:

    • names of registered title holders
    • addresses
    • lease terms & rental amounts.

  3. What is your personal information used for?

    The Council uses your personal data for the following reasons:

    • maintaining our own accounts and records
    • assisting with the granting of leases and tenancies
    • completing lease inspections and compliance
    • responding to ownership enquiries.

  4. What is the lawful basis we are relying on?

    We collect and use this information under Article 6(1)(e), as it is necessary to perform our public tasks. We may also need to use your personal information where processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to meet our contractual obligations (such as with property management companies) (Art 6(1)(b).

  5. Where has the personal information come from?

    Your data is provided directly by you, or is provided by another Council service in order to resolve an enquiry you have made. Land Registry data is provided centrally to the Council by Land Registry.

  6. Who will we share your personal information with?

    We will share your data with Manchester City Council’s property management agent. This will only be necessary when entering into a leasehold or licence agreement with Manchester City Council, otherwise they will not receive your information. They will use your contact information only to deal with management issues concerning any lease / licence agreement you enter into, such as lease inspections and compliance.

    Personal data will be shared with the Council’s Legal Services Team where legal advice is sought or legal proceedings contemplated.
