Summary
A permit is required if you want to put a site cabin or storage container on the highway (road/pavement).
If it's to be positioned inside the hoarding you don't need a separate site cabin permit.
Only apply for this permit from us if the location falls within the Manchester City Council boundaries. If you're not sure check which council the location falls under.

£240
Made up of inspection fee of £81 (applied to all applications) and permit cost of £159 (maximum of 28 days).

Attachments required
- Public liability insurance, minimum cover £10million; and
- A scale plan of the site showing the position of the structure/obstruction on the road/pavement.
Applications should include Evidence of valid 'Public Liability' Insurance (not less than £10 million) and a scale plan of the site showing the position of the structure/obstruction on the highway/road. Both of these documents can be emailed to highwaylicences@manchester.gov.uk.

Processing and timescales
We'll contact you within 5 working days with either the permit (which must be displayed on site) or to let you know that we need to visit the site and discuss your proposal in more detail.

Validity and renewals
The permit is valid for the period approved up to a maximum of 28 days. You can renew your permit for a further 28 days -
