  1. What's happening

Ferndown Road – static bee bollards

Three static Bee bollards have been installed on Ferndown Road to improve traffic management and reduce congestion.

Wythenshawe Park – new gateway entrance

A new gateway entrance has been created at Wythenshawe Park, along with associated footpath improvements leading to the Biddeford entrance. This work enhances park access and the overall visitor experience.

Nan Nook Estate – double yellow lines and traffic orders

Double yellow lines, a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO), and a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) have been implemented at the following junctions:

    • Cherry Tree Road / Wythenshawe Road
    • Wood Wise Lane / Wythenshawe Road

This work was carried out following road resurfacing to improve traffic flow and safety at these junctions.

    Wythenshawe Park – boundary fencing

New Weldmesh security fencing is being installed along Lawnhurst Avenue and Bideford Drive to protect Wythenshawe Park and address resident concerns about anti-social behaviour (ASB) and vandalism.

    Other projects

    • We're installing 28 kick rails and 'Bee' bollards on Yew Tree Lane.
    • We're installing 18 kick rails and 'Bee' bollards on Gosforth Drive and Pengham Drive.
    • We're installing two kick rails and one 'Bee' bollard on Wendover Road.
    • We're creating an age-friendly bench network and making footpath improvements from Northenden centre to Wythenshawe Park. This will provide easier access for older people to walk to the park and through the centre, supporting an improved age-friendly neighbourhood, the active travel policy for the city, and economic and carbon reduction initiatives at a practical and local level.
