What's happening
Alma Park School – double yellow lines
This project involves adding double yellow lines to improve school and road safety. The new lines will be placed in the following locations:
- From the edge of Alma Park School on Errwood Road
- Across the bridge of the floop
- To the corner of Carson Avenue and Linden Road
The goal of this project is to improve safety around the school and on the surrounding roads.
Other projects
- We're installing five age-friendly benches to form a route following consultation with local residents. Locations: Stockport Road (near business center, appliance shop, and green space), Cromwell Grove (near library), and Albert Road (near train station).
- We're replacing 28 tactile pavings in poor condition at various locations.
- We're installing 'Bee' bollards at various locations: four outside 998 Stockport Road, two at the end of the alleyway on Southyard Street, an extra bollard outside Madina Superstore to block access between bike storage and lamppost, an extra bollard outside the takeaway on the corner of Worsley Grove and the A6 Carrill Grove East, and two bollards on the corner of Eltham Street and the A6.
- We're installing a "Welcome to Levenshulme" sign.
- We've installed a safety fence outside Andrews Primary School on Broom Avenue.
- We're adding a traffic regulation order for 38 meters of single yellow lines outside St Andrews Primary School on Broom Avenue.
- We're installing uplights to show off the murals at night and standard lighting in the back corner at Village Green.
- We're installing 'dead end' road signs at the corner of Dalny Street and Delamere Street, and installing bollards to deter pavement parking, including six 'Bee' bollards, one dead end sign and post, and cutting or replacing two flags.
- We're installing approximately 20 meters of pedestrian guard rail between the two controlled crossing points at Byrom Parade.
