There are a number of events happening in Manchester this month for our city’s care leavers.

See what’s on and come along. If you have any questions or need help to attend, speak to your Personal Advisor.

Tuesday 11 November

  • Outdoor Activity Day, 1 to 5pm, at Venture Out, Burnage Rugby Club, Battersea Road, Heaton Mersey, Stockport, SK4 3EA

    Learn to kayak, take part in an archery lesson or learn bushcraft skills. For more info and to book email: careleavers@manchester.gov.uk 
  • ‘Hub Day’ Cooking Session with GMYN (Greater Manchester Youth Network) , at The Beehive, 40 Seymour Road, Crumpsall, M8 5BR.

  •  BECOME – Your Rights, Your Voice, Your Future. Online event. 6 to 7pm. Online

    1-hour free online workshop to help you understand what your rights are when leaving care. Visit BECOME to book a place on the workshop.
  • World Food Event, 4 to 7pm. The Beehive, 40 Seymour Road, Crumpsall, M8 5BR.

  • Movie Night at the ODEON Cinema

  • Lights, Camera, Career: Breaking into TV and Film, 6 to 7pm, Online event

    1-hour free online panel discussion with experts working in TV and film to help you break into the industry.  Visit BECOME to book a place on the workshop.

Thursday 20 November 

  • Self-Care and Pamper Afternoon, 3 to 6pm at The Beehive, 40 Seymour Road, Crumpsall, M8 5BR.

    Enjoy a relaxing space filled with calming activities, soothing treatments, and feel-good vibes. From mini massages and facials to mindfulness sessions and creative self-care kits — this is your time to unwind, recharge, and feel celebrated. Come as you are. Tuesday 25 November 

  • ‘Rise as Me’, Speed Networking Event, 4 to 8pm at KPMG, 1 St Peter's Square, Manchester M2 3AE.

    Interested in changing paths in your education or career and want to talk to local leaders in industry who have been there? This event will bring together care-experienced young people and successful leaders from the arts, film, business and media for good conversation, great food and to create new connections. 

Wednesday 26 November

  • Evening Football Session at Goals, 5 to 8pm, The Irish Centre, 1 Irish Town Way, next to the Queens Road Tram Stop.

Thursday 27 November

  •  Inflatable Fun Day, 12 to 3pm at Millenium Powerhouse (the in Sports Hall), 140 Raby Street, Moss Side, M14 4SL.

Saturday 29 November

  • 'Rising Coffee Morning Chat', One Manchester event, 10am to 12pm, at Gorton Hub, 27 Garratt Way (M18 8HE)

    For One Manchester customers who are care experienced. At the even you'll meet the 'Staying Close' team and learn how to make the most of your tenancy. Free snacks and a drinks voucher, find out more about peer mentor and walking groups, employment, education, training and volunteering support, talk through tenancy challenges, and get support to understand and manage financial challenges.
