What people say about fostering with us
Steve and Gemma
We’re extremely pleased to be working with such dedicated and motivated professionals. Our experience with Manchester so far has been positive, and I’m sure it will continue to develop into a strong partnership.

Our assessing social worker was warm, kind, understanding of our arrangements, on time, and gave a true representation of our circumstances in our assessment report.

My husband and I are in the process of transferring to Manchester from another fostering agency. We were feeling weary at the thought of going through the assessment process again, but our social worker Ruth has made the process painless. Within minutes of meeting her we knew we’d get on, as she made us feel so comfortable with her open, friendly and enthusiastic personality. She’s very professional but has a great sense of humour, and we felt we could be honest with her without anything being taken the wrong way. Ruth dropped off the completed F1 form with us recently. She has really understood us as a family – it was spot on! As my husband and I have already been through the fostering process we can say with confidence that Ruth is a real gem.

My assessor Yvette has made it easy to transfer to Manchester from another fostering agency. She made me feel comfortable throughout, even when talking about difficult times in my past. She was a pleasure to work with. All your social workers have been lovely.
Lynda
We were relaxed throughout our assessment process. Sara, our social worker, took her time and didn’t make us feel as though we were wrong in any of our discussions. We felt safe talking to her about our personal history. She made us feel it was okay to be open and honest about how we felt.

One of my best memories is from when we took some siblings on their first-ever holiday – they got so excited they could barely sleep the night before we travelled. During the holiday the children didn't want their day to end and couldn't wait till the morning to start over again.
I would encourage people to foster, as children need stability and structure, and you can make a difference to someone else's life.
