Scheme information
Following the consultation with residents and local businesses earlier in the year we have considered comments and produced the final scheme design for the extended North Manchester General Hospital resident parking scheme. The design has changed very little since the initial proposals.
The scheme aims to preserve local amenity by allowing residents and their visitors to park in close proximity to their property and prevent obstructive parking around junctions and on residential roads. This scheme is now undergoing legal advertising, which will last for 21 days from 22 October 2020. You will see notices attached to lighting columns in the area.
Should you wish to make comment or view detailed proposals please email phlegal@manchester.gov.uk
Further details on how to apply for residents' permits will be shared over the coming months prior to the scheme going live.
This consultation closed on 2 March 2020
Last year we carried out a survey into parking issues in the Charminster Road area. The feedback we received showed clear support for a residents’ parking scheme.
The proposed scheme has been designed to discourage parking generated by the hospital, to make it easier for residents to park close to their homes as well as improve road safety and the flow of traffic.
