Gender
The Equality Act 2007 places a duty on Manchester City Council to promote gender equality.
This means that we should, in all our day-to-day work and in the provision of all our services:
- eliminate unlawful discrimination and harassment in employment and vocational training for staff, including those that intend to undergo, are undergoing or have had gender reassignment
- promotye equality of opportunity between men and women
To help us acheive this we have produced a Gender Equality Scheme that outlines our vision of gender equality and a three year action plan that lists how we will idenify and respond to all forms of gender streotyping, disctimination, sexism and transphobia.
