£3,000 is now available in every ward in the city to fund food providers or commission food-based projects.
This is part of £600,000 we've made available for food support in our response to the cost of living crisis.
What it can pay for:
- stock
- white goods
- furniture and fittings (e.g shelving, counters)
- memberships (e.g. annual Fareshare fees)
- staff/volunteer training (e.g. food hygiene certificates)
- other one-off infrastructure purchases
- volunteer expenses
- sessional worker fees.
What it can’t pay for:
- staff salaries
- core costs
- building/maintenance costs.
Funding key principles:
- £3,000 per ward
- no single item/project spend limit
- joint funding opportunities with other wards will be considered where appropriate
- organisations must be registered with Environmental Health.
