Planning & regeneration Brownfield Land Register

The government require each local planning authority in England to prepare, maintain and publish a register of previously developed (brownfield) land suitable for housing. Brownfield Land registers were introduced to provide up-to-date and consistent information on sites that local authorities consider to be appropriate for residential development.

In line with the Town and Country Planning (Brownfield Land Register) Regulations, Manchester has produced its Brownfield Register 2017. Please note the information is based on the end of year (31st March 2017) figures and is a subset of Manchester’s Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment 2017.
