Most block of flats, sheltered housing, and some rows of houses, have shared recycling facilities rather than their own individual bins.

If you don't know where yours are, ask a neighbour, caretaker, or your landlord or agent.

Divide your waste into the different recycling types - paper, bottles and so on - and put the right thing in the right bin. If one person puts in the wrong material, it can contaminate a whole container.

If you take your recycling in plastic bags, don't throw the bags in to the recycling bins.

We can provide special bags to make it easier to divide your recycling. They're long-lasting, wipe-clean and reusable. Pick them up at your local library.
