Key statistics

  • As of 31 March 2020, according to the Council Tax Stock of Properties (Valuation Office Agency (VOA), September 2020), there were:
    • Approximately 234,290 residential properties in Manchester
    • 57.2% of properties were in council tax band A - this represents properties valued less than £40,000 in 1991
  • According to the 2011 Census 38.5 per cent of properties were owner occupied (this includes properties with shared ownership).
