Key statistics

  • As of June 2017, there were approximately 226,640 residential properties in the city
  • 58 per cent of properties are in council tax band A - this represents properties valued less than £40,000 in 1991 (source: VOA, 31 March 2017)
  • According to the 2011 Census 38.5 per cent of properties were owner occupied (this includes properties with shared ownership).
