The Council and democracy Postal Vote Renewal

Postal Vote Renewals

Renewing your postal voting arrangements

Due to the Elections Act 2022, postal vote applications can now only be valid for a set period or a maximum of three years. If you wish to continue voting by post beyond this period, you will need to reapply once your current postal vote expires.

What this means for you

We will contact all electors whose postal vote period is nearing its end. This communication will include instructions on how to reapply. If we have your email address, you will receive this information via email in March. If we do not have your email address, we will send a letter in April and May.

If you receive a notification from us by email or post, please complete your application promptly to ensure you remain registered to vote by post in future elections. If we do not receive a response from you, your postal vote will be cancelled.

The email will come from: ManchesterCouncil@public.govdelivery.com. Please note, this email address is not monitored.

For any questions, contact us at 0161 234 1212 or email esu@manchester.gov.uk.

Cancelling your postal vote

If you wish to cancel your postal vote, please contact us at esu@manchester.gov.uk so that we can remove your existing arrangement.
