Key performance indicator spotlight

Led by Manchester Climate Change Agency (MCCA) in conjunction with partners including the Council’s Neighbourhood teams, the “In Our Nature” programme was launched in May 2021, delivering significant social and environmental impacts across Manchester. Progress includes:

  • 1000+ residents and stakeholders engaged in consultation
  • 15,500 visits to the online hub of tips and resources https://zerocarbonmanchester.commonplace.is/
  • 5 community fridge projects; redistributing 7 tonnes of surplus food and welcomed more than 900 visitors
  • 1500 surplus smart phones gifted to digitally excluded residents, reducing electronic waste and saving ~80 tonnes of carbon
  • 8 urban greening projects launched, with events and workshops engaging over 350 people
