Winter Trail
- Date: Mid-December 2025 to February 2026
- Description: Pick up a free trail map from Reception (by the Stables Cafe) and follow our family-friendly Winter Trail! This short walk takes you through scenic areas of the Park in search of fun winter characters.

February Half Term - Zodiac Quest
- Date: 14 to 22 February 2026 (All day · Free · All ages)
- Description: Celebrate Lunar New Year at Heaton Park this February Half Term! Pick up a free Zodiac Quest map from Reception (next to the Stables Cafe). See if you can spot all 12 animals of the Zodiac around our Animal Centre!
February Half Term - Make Your Own Bookmark
- Date: 15, 17 and 19 February (11am to 2pm · Free · All ages)
- Description: Celebrate Lunar New Year at Heaton Park this February Half Term! Colour in your own Year of the Horse bookmarks in the Stables Courtyard. Indoors in poor weather, or outdoors in good weather.
February Half Term - Lion Dance
- Date: Saturday 21 February (Performances 11:30am, 12:10pm and 1pm · Free · All ages)
- Description: Celebrate Lunar New Year at Heaton Park this February Half Term! Enjoy thrilling Lion Dance performances by local company L2 Lion Dance, taking place outside in the park next to the Stables Cafe. (10-15 mins per performance.) While the performance is suitable for all ages, very young or sensitive audience members may find the lion costumes scary.
February Half Term - Calligraphy Workshops

- Description: Celebrate Lunar New Year at Heaton Park this February Half Term! Join in with drop-in calligraphy workshops in the Stables Courtyard. Indoors in poor weather, or outdoors in good weather.
Run Fanatics Abba Themed – ABBATHON

- Description: Read about the ABBA-themed 5k & 10k fun run.
Run Heaton Park
- Date: 22 February

- Description: Read about the Run Heaton series with 5k, 10k, Half Marathon + kids race.

Spring Trail
- Date: Early March 2026 to late May 2026 - All day · Free · All ages.
- Description: Pick up a free trail map from Reception (by the Stables Cafe) and follow our family-friendly Spring Trail! This short walk takes you through scenic areas of the Park in search of fun spring characters.
FTNS Ultra Back Yard Marathon
- Date: 7 to 10 March
- Description: Read about the Five‑day endurance challenge at Heaton Park testing teamwork, stamina, and resilience.
Bike Repair Workshop
- Date: Sunday 8 March 2026 - 11am to 2pm · Free · All ages.
- Location: Stables Courtyard, Heaton Park (next to Stables Cafe)
- Description: Always wanted to learn how to repair your bike? Not cycling as much as you’d like to? Learn new skills at this free drop-in Dr Bike session, led by Naz - qualified bike mechanic and founder of female-led Bike It Walk It. Bike safety checks, learn bike repair skills, minor repairs. Celebrating Repair Week and International Women's Day. Open to all, especially women, and families welcome (children must be supervised).
The Ultra Loop
- Date: 21 March

- Description: Read about the Inclusive 8‑hour running challenge around a 5km loop with medals for all.
