5 May 2022 Local Government Elections

The next scheduled city wide election to take place in Manchester will be Local Government Elections on Thursday 5 May 2022 and electors across all 32 Manchester wards will be able to vote in this election if they are registered to vote.

A list of the candidates standing has been published view the details in the Statements of Persons nominated.

The deadline to register to vote for this election has now passed, though you can still register to vote for future elections online.

All postal votes have now been posted out, if you have not received your postal vote pack please either call us on 0161 234 1212 or email us at esu@manchester.gov.uk as a matter of urgency. 

The deadline apply for a postal vote or appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf has now passed. 

In certain circumstances, where you have an emergency that means you cannot vote in person, you can apply for an emergency proxy vote.

This must be something that you were not aware of before the normal proxy deadline which was 5pm on the 26 April 2022.

You have a medical emergency.

You are away from work.

You are self isolating due to COVID-19

These applications can be made up to 5pm on polling day, Thursday 5 May 2022.
