Walk for Women - roads closed and parking suspensions

Some roads in the city centre will be temporarily closed on Saturday 9 March, and parking restrictions will be in place from 6pm Friday 8 March until 3pm Saturday 9 March.

This is to accommodate our annual Walk for Women event. The walk will make its way from Mount Street (behind Central Library) to Manchester Cathedral via Albert Square, Brazennose Street and along Deansgate to its finish point at the Cathedral. 

Road closures: Saturday 9 March


 10am - 2pm​

  • Peter Street (Lower Mosley Street to Southmill Street)  
  • Mount Street (Windmill Street to Albert Square)  
  • Cateaton Street (Deansgate to Exchange Square) 
  • Victoria Bridge Street (soft closure permitting access in and out of M&S Car Park and Number One Deansgate only)
  • Victoria Street (Deansgate to Cathedral Approach) 

11am - 1.30pm​

  • Deansgate (Queen Street to Victoria Street)​

Parking suspensions: Friday 8 March and Saturday 9 March

6pm Friday through to 3pm Saturday​
