The run
This year’s AJ Bell Great Manchester Run will take place on Sunday 26 May 2024. It includes both 10k and Half Marathon events. If you’re not taking part or can’t get out to see the action live, the event will be broadcast live on BBC One. It'll be aired from 11am – 1pm (please check TV listings for up to date timings).
The action kicks off on Portland Street with:
- the Elite Wheelchair Race at 08:15am
- followed by the AJ Bell Great Manchester Half Marathon at 08:20am.
The run will feature featuring some of the world’s best athletes. They will head out a field of over 25,000 competitors in the AJ Bell Great Manchester 10K. It will start with the Elite Women’s race at 11:25am, followed by Elite Men and masses from 11:40am.
Several roads within the city will be affected by the events. Road closures and traffic diversion plans will be in operation on the day. We’ll be installing warning notices before the event.
