Christmas in Manchester New Year’s Eve in Manchester

We have two New Year's events in Manchester this year. An all day event in Albert Square and a fireworks display in nearby St. Peters Square.

St Peter’s Square

10pm to 12.30am

Ring in 2026 at Manchester’s free, family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration!

Hosted by BBC Radio Manchester DJ Joe McGrath. Dance the night away to a live DJ set and enjoy a spectacular firework display in St Peter’s Square at midnight.

This is a non-alcohol event but there will be two food stalls in the square.

Important Information:

  • Bags must be no larger than A4. Bag searches will be in operation
  • Expect bright lights and loud noises
  • Accessible viewing area: Tram Stop closest to Central Library
  • Unreserved accessible parking: George Street
  • Temporary traffic-management measures will be in place.

Albert Square

10am to 12.30am

Enjoy festive food, drink, and fairground style attractions right through until 12:30am.

Visit 14 independent craft stalls and soak up the magical atmosphere – our traders will be selling everything from doggy treats to personalised maps and Manchester merchandise.

Take a spin on the 50-metre-high Ferris Wheel for breathtaking views.
